Quick Start

  • Tap Start.
  • Tilt your phone to change notes (pitch angle).
  • Move your arm as if the phone is the bow to produce sound.
  • Move faster for higher volume. Stop moving to stop sound.

Pitch → Note Mapping

The app uses your phone’s pitch angle (in degrees):

  • −90° to −30° → Note 1
  • −30° to 10° → Note 2
  • 10° to 50° → Note 3
  • 50° to 90° → Note 4

Troubleshooting

  • No sound? Turn your volume up and disable Silent Mode.
  • Still no sound? Close the app and reopen it, then tap Start again.
  • Sound cuts out? Keep moving your arm (bowing motion) — the app silences when motion is below threshold.
  • Note switching feels jumpy? Try slower tilts near the boundaries.

FAQ

Does the app record audio?
No. Air Violin does not record or store audio.

Does the app collect data?
No personal data is collected. Motion processing happens on-device.

Do I need extra hardware?
No. Just your iPhone and its sensors.

Privacy

Air Violin uses motion sensors (device orientation and movement) to control sound. All processing happens locally on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information.
